Automatic Tank Gauging System
An Automatic Tank Gauging (ATG) system is a monitoring system used to measure and manage the inventory of liquids stored in tanks. ATG systems in the oil and gas ensure accurate monitoring and management of liquid inventory in storage tanks, improving operational efficiency and safety.
The ATG system is equipped with sensors that are installed in the storage tank. These sensors measure parameters such as liquid level, temperature, and pressure continuously and pass them to the central control unit. which then processes the data received from the sensors to calculate the volume of liquid in the tank. It may also perform other functions, such as temperature compensation and leak detection.
The ATG system provides real-time monitoring of parameters for operators and it’s programmed to set off alarms or alerts if the liquid level exceeds or falls below a certain threshold. The ATG system stores the data collected over time, which can be used for reporting and analysis purposes. This data can also be integrated with other systems, such as inventory management systems.
